Who is responsible

PIKOTW is operated by Paul Singleton, a sole trader based in London, United Kingdom, trading as PIKOTW. I am also an independent travel advisor with InteleTravel UK (ABTA P7384 · IATA 10-548020 · CLIA 00-323643). For anything on this page, contact [email protected].

Cookies, and the choice you have

Analytics cookies are set when you arrive on this site, before you have been asked. That is a deliberate decision on my part and I would rather state it plainly than bury it. A notice appears on your first visit offering you the choice to decline.

If you decline, three things happen immediately: the analytics signal is switched off, any cookies already placed are deleted from your browser, and your choice is remembered so that nothing is set on future visits either.

I use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read and which are ignored. It sets cookies beginning _ga.

I also use Google Ads. That means advertising and measurement cookies (typically _gcl) may be set so that I can tell which adverts lead to enquiries, and so that Google can show my adverts to people with similar interests. Like the analytics cookies, these are active when you arrive and are switched off and deleted the moment you decline. I do not sell your data to anybody, and there is no third-party tracking on this site beyond Google Analytics and Google Ads.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on across every site you visit.

The lawful basis, honestly stated

I rely on legitimate interests for analytics: understanding which pages are useful so the site can be improved. You should know that under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, the stricter reading is that non-essential cookies require consent before they are set, rather than an opportunity to decline afterwards. I have chosen the opt-out model described above with that in mind. If you would prefer the site had asked first, decline the notice and nothing further is collected — and do tell me, because that feedback would change my mind.

What else is collected

If you email me, I hold your message and address for as long as needed to deal with it and to keep a record of the correspondence. Email is handled by Google Workspace.

Server and security logs. This site is served by Cloudflare Pages, which processes request data including IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against attack. That processing is necessary for the site to function at all.

If you become a travel client, booking data is handled under InteleTravel UK's own privacy terms and those of the supplier concerned, and I will say so at the time.

Where data goes

Google (Analytics, Workspace) and Cloudflare are both US-headquartered and may process data outside the UK, under the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the UK–US Data Bridge.

How long it is kept

Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Email correspondence is kept while it remains relevant to an enquiry or a client relationship, and deleted when it is not. Nothing is kept indefinitely without a reason.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive it in a portable form. Email [email protected] and I will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with my response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office — ico.org.uk, helpline 0303 123 1113. You are entitled to go to them directly.

Changes

This page was last updated on 8 August 2026. If the site's cookie behaviour changes, this page changes on the same day — a privacy notice that describes something other than what the site does is worse than no notice at all.
